Brecksville Flea @BUMC

The Third Annual Brecksville Flea @BUMC will be held Saturday, August 8

Vendors Wanted!

Do you have handcrafted items to sell? Are you an artist searching for customers? Do you create treasures out of items others would discard? Are you a gardener with summer harvest to share? Ready to part with your record collection? We want you for the Brecksville Flea @BUMC!

Vendor space is limited for this popular event and registration will close when all spaces are reserved and paid for or on July 31, whichever comes first. The church’s sign up form or visiting the church office are the only ways to register.

Be A Part of The Joyful Gathering

There are many ways to help! This event helps raise funds for our church’s ministries and mission. Here’s how you can help make it a success:

  • Help recruit vendors. Do you know a local crafter, artist, or flea market vendor? Tell them about the Flea @BUMC!
  • Spread the word. Invite your family, friends and neighbors to come shop. Post some flyers around town.
  • Donating items. Bring your “garage sale” items to Fellowship Hall begining Sunday, August 2.
  • Donate produce or flowers for our new Green Team Produce Stand! Have garden bounty? Share it with the community!
  • Help set up the “garage sale.” Help organize and set up donations the week before the event. Kim Vann and friends will be there in the evenings, but you’re welcome to drop in anytime you’re available to sort donations according to the signs on the tables and walls.
  • Man a tent! Serve as a cashier or help set up or tear down our popular Nothin’ But Board Games & Puzzles tent.
  • Create Welcome. Serve a shift as a church ambassador the day of the event, welcoming vendors as they arrive, or answering questions for guests at the church info stand.
  • Clean Up Crew. Can you swoop end at the end of the event and help a tired crew tidy up the day of the event? You will be appreciated!
  • After Sale Load Out. Help load out sale remnants for Volunteers of America on Tuesday, August 8 between noon and 4 pm. We’ll need to prepare the leftovers for the truck and then help the drivers load the truck.

A recap of our second annual event!

Our second annual Brecksville Flea at BUMC was held August 9, 2025! On a beautiful, blue sky summer day, 27 vendors filled the church parking lot and fellowship hall with their wares – and the community came out to shop and enjoy the day together.

From vintage clothing, to household decor and furniture, to handcrafted jewelry and framed art and photography, there was something for everyone. Our popular “Nothing But Games and Puzzles” tent returned and did brisk sales. The Missions Team gave a hands on demonstration on how to weave sleeping mats out of disposable shopping bags. Our church information table expanded to include bakery and cookbook sales. And the Volunteers in Mission Team served delicious pulled pork sandwiches to satisfy hungry shoppers.

The church “garage sale” portion of the sale expanded, accepting donated items in a longer window, which meant a lot more inventory to share. Even after doing $1395 in sales, we still had 7,459 pounds of items to donate to Volunteers for America after the Flea closed.

All proceeds will help Brecksville UMC continue to be a place where the community can gather – for worship, weddings, funerals, classes, recovery group meetings, pre-school, recitals, exercise classes, music lessons, scouts and more. We are all about creating safe spaces to grow with God and one another!

Our 27 vendors included several returning from our 2024 event along with some new faces. Their registration fees, combined with items sold by Brecksville UMC brought in $3,642 to help offset our budget deficit. That’s $1500 more than last year!
