Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem was accented by the jubilant waving of palm branches and is re-enacted at our 10:30 Service on Palm Sunday. Unfortunately, for the communities where these palms are harvested, palm fronds do not always represent the same jubilation they do for us. That’s why we support economic and social justice through the purchase of Eco Palms.
Eco-palms are sustainably harvested and fairly traded. The money we spend on the palms directly benefits the communities where the palms are harvested. The extra nickel we spend per palm sends young girls to school, employs women, and helps build community centers. The palms are harvested in an environmentally friendly way, with practices to ensure that the same quality palms you see today will be there for years to come. Purchasing these palms protects the forests they are grown in.
