From Beaver Marsh to Boardwalk

The Brecksville United Women in Faith Present “From Beaver Marsh to Boardwalk”, the story of the design, construction and development of the Ira Road Beaver Marsh Boardwalk. The area is one of the most visited and well-loved sections of the Towpath Trail in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. When it became part of the national park in the 1975, it was the site of an auto repair facility. The site was cleaned up and the beaver moved in, creating an extensive wetland which had to be crossed for the construction of the new Towpath Trail without destroying the fragile habitat the beavers had created. Come learn the story of that transformation. Our presenters are the Bobels, local naturalists who have joined our group to share about our area’s rich natural history before.

Join us as we gather at 9:30 for refreshments in The Parlor, followed by the program at 10 am. All are welcome! Invite your friends. A brief UWF business meeting follows the program.
