Confirmation and 50 Year Member Sunday

Confirmation Sunday- May 17, 2026

This spring, we celebrate a meaningful milestone in the life of our church: Confirmation Sunday, when four of our young people will publicly affirm their faith and their place within our church community.

Over the past two years, these confirmands have been on a thoughtful and intentional journey. They have spent time in Sunday School classes, learning and asking big questions alongside their teachers. They have met with dedicated mentors, building relationships and exploring what faith looks like in real life. They have also gathered with Pastor Heidi, engaging in deeper conversations about what it means to be a United Methodist.

In the United Methodist tradition, confirmation is not just a moment—it is a step into a lifelong journey of faith. It is a chance for these young people to claim for themselves the promises made at their baptism, to say “yes” to God’s love, and to take their place more fully in the life of the church. It is also a reminder to all of us of the importance of community—of walking alongside one another, encouraging growth, and making space for questions, doubt, and discovery.

We invite you to join us for Confirmation Sunday on May 17 at 10:30am, as we celebrate these four incredible young people and the journey that has brought them to this day. Your presence is a gift, and your support helps surround them with the love and encouragement of their church family.

We are so incredibly thankful for the mentors, teachers, families, and leaders who have walked alongside them—and for the ways these young people are already shaping the future of our church.

Celebrating our 50+ Year Members

May 17 is shaping up to be a truly special day in the life of our church—one that beautifully weaves together generations of faith. On that Sunday, as we celebrate our confirmands stepping forward to claim their faith as their own, we will also honor those among us who have been members of this congregation for 50 years or more. What a powerful and meaningful pairing: those just beginning to affirm their place in the church, alongside those who have lived that commitment out over decades.

These long-time members have helped shape the very foundation of our community. Through seasons of change and growth, they have shown up, served, worshiped, and loved—quietly building the church that our confirmands are now stepping into. Their faithfulness is a gift, and their stories are part of the sacred thread that connects past, present, and future.

We are hoping to mark the occasion with a simple time of fellowship—perhaps a small reception before or after the service (details to come!). Whether it’s cookies, cupcakes, or something in between, the heart of it will be the chance to gather, celebrate, and give thanks together.

It’s not often that we get to so clearly see the full arc of a faith community in one moment—but this will be one of those days. We hope you’ll join us as we honor where we’ve been, celebrate where we are, and look ahead to where God is leading us next.
