Home Days Fishing Booth Supports Conservation Fund

God gives rain on the earth and sends waters on the fields. -Job 5:10

Home Days is a time of food, fun, music and community. Hosting a booth on Stadium Drive has been an annual summer tradition for Brecksville UMC for decades. In 2026, we’re hosts to a Fishing Game and inviting kids to stop by, drop a “fishing line” into a “pond” and reel in a prize.

When planning the booth, the Missions & Community Engagement team reached out to the Green Team for ideas about ways to reduce waste and provide prizes that are kind to God’s creation. This year’s prizes will be mostly things you can eat! Goldfish Crackers and Swedish Fish, instead of plastic toys destined for the landfill.

Donations Support Conservation Fund

We’re also designating all donations for the Cuyahoga Soil & Water Conservation District’s Conservation Action Grant & Scholarship Fund! This fund awards grants, scholarships, and rebates to support conservation efforts in Cuyahoga County.

About the Fund

Do you have an idea for a project that would foster a more healthy and resilient urban environment through soil and water resources conservation practices, community engagement, and environmental stewardship? If you’re a resident of Cuyahoga County, you can apply for funding to help make that idea a reality! Things like neighborhood tree planting, rain garden installation, pollinator gardens, rain barrel systems and educational signage have all been awarded this grant. Eligible applicants include residents, teachers, schools, organizations and local units of government.

How You Can Help

You don’t have to come to Home Days to dive into this mission! Your generosity helps fund these vital local conservation projects.

Your donations directly empower local residents, teachers, and schools to jump start green projects right here in our community. Let’s cast a line for a cleaner, greener future!
