We’re streamlining how we stay connected! All official youth ministry communication is moving to Spond.
What is Spond?
Spond is a free, secure group-organizing app widely used by youth teams, clubs, and church groups. It replaces scattered group texts, social media posts, and easily missed email chains with one organized, privacy-protected location.
Why We’re Moving to Spond:
- Real-Time Updates: Instant notifications for youth group schedule changes, upcoming trips, transportation details, and service opportunities.
- BUMC Hype Squad: A dedicated place to share what our youth are doing outside of church—recitals, games, matches, shows, and competitions—so our church family can show up and cheer them on! (Have an upcoming event? Share it in the app, tell our Youth Director, Shannon Kantorowski, or contact the church office so we can add it.
- No Smartphone? No Problem: While there is a great smartphone app, Spond also sends updates via standard email and can be accessed from any web browser on a computer.
How to Join:
To protect the safety and privacy of our youth, our Spond group is private and invite-only.
- Contact Shannon Kantorowski at youth@BrecksvilleUMC.com or 440-526-8938 to request the private group join link and access code.
- Download the free Spond app on iOS/Android (or log in at spond.com).
- Enter the group code Shannon provides.
Member Roles when setting up your profile:
- Youth: Sign up as a Member.
- Parents/Guardians: Sign up as a Guardian (this links your profile directly to your student’s account for safe oversight).
- Hype Squad Supporters: Sign up as a Member to follow along and support our youth.
