About Our Instructor
Mandy Spisak
“Getting in touch with your creativity has many positive effects on one’s mental wellbeing. Mindful art focuses on the process of making over progress. Practicing mindful art allows us to follow our intuition and to achieve flow.”
Artist & Instructor
Mandy Spisak is an artist and art instructor from Cleveland, Ohio. She received her BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art with a focus in painting and enameling. She is a passionate upcyclist, creating nature inspired mosaics with wallpaper and textiles.
Mandy has spent her career instructing kids and adults in a variety of mediums at local art centers and studios. She loves sharing her enthusiasm for upcycled materials and how to create works of art that are beautiful and sustainable.
She has led interactive, upcycled murals in public events educating people of all ages how to use discarded materials in a creative manner. During these collaborative projects, spectators can engage in the making of sustainable art in a fun, accessible way.
Recently she has shifted her focus on leading groups in art events that offer team building and mindful techniques. Her method of prioritizing process over progress gives her students the tools to promote positive mental health and reduced stress.
