A Reconciling Congregation within the United Methodist Church is a local church that publicly welcomes and affirms all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, to full participation in its life and ministry. Reconciling Congregations are committed to creating a safe and inclusive space for all God’s children and actively work for full equality for LGBTQ+ people within the denomination. 

Brecksville United Methodist Church strives to be an inclusive church, living into our value of Courageous Inclusion by creating spaces that are not only welcoming and safe but profoundly inclusive. We work to ensure there’s room at the table for everyone.

On May 11, 2014, after more than a year of study and discernment, members of Brecksville United Methodist Church voted to become a Reconciling Congregation, and we have been living into this commitment ever since.

Reconciling Ministries Network supports this ongoing and important work throughout the connection, providing education, resources and advocacy. They need our help to continue this work.
