Teams are great ways to use your God-given strengths and gifts to serve God through BUMC and help us fulfill our mission of creating safe spaces to grow with God and one another. The Building Maintenance, Grounds and Parsonage Maintenance Teams care for the physical property of the church, the church grounds
and the home where our pastor lives. If you like to help fix things, garden, or enjoy household projects one of these teams could use your talents!
Missions & Community Engagement Team plans and executes ways we can connect with our local communities and serving others locally, nationally & internationally. This team has the honor & responsibility of managing the Missions budget.
Joyful Gathering Team— We are a church that likes to have fun together, and this team creates opportunities for community building for our church family throughout the year. Lots of opportunities to serve for single events and short term projects!
Coffee Hour Team helps create an atmosphere of joy and connection in our Parlor on Sunday mornings. From brewing coffee to washing mugs; making (or buying) pastries & fruit; to creating a fun playlist, this team is all about joyful gathering.
Worship Arts Team works with the pastor to help enhance the visual aesthetics of our worship spaces. Use your gifts to help people both
in-person and online connect with worship.
AV Team helps run sound, slides, and cameras for worship services. Or, help create videos to highlight ministry areas and events!
Alternative Revenue Team looks for ways beyond the offering plate to financially support the work of the church. Have ideas? Join this team!
Welcome Team for those who enjoy making people feel welcome, seen and loved. Serve on a Sunday morning rotation, occasionally or for special weeknight services and funerals. We will give you the tools, tips and tricks you need to enjoy this role!
Funeral Team— a lot of care goes into hosting funeral service and luncheon at our church, from greeting people, to setting up and taking down tables and chairs, to serving food and drink. It’s a holy thing to care for those who are grieving.
Stewardship Team—works with the Leadership Board to communicate how we use the money we have been given, ensuring Stewardship isn’t just a season in the church, but something we think about all year long.
Audit & Budget Teams—annual work with our Finance Manager. Like numbers and details? One of these teams may be for you!Counting Teams serve on a rotation to count and deposit the weekly offering. Discretion and care are (and church membership) are prerequisites for this important team.
Church Closers serve on a rotation, one week at a time, to ensure that the church building is locked up, safe and secure at the end of each day.
Green Team—a group of people who work together to promote sustainability within our church and care for God’s creation within our community.
