Coins for Lent
Looking for a Lenten practice for the whole family? Coins for Lent is a daily practice which encourages gratitude and giving in the season of Lent. Keep the Coins for Lent Calendar and your collection bag or box where you can see them every day.
Each day of Lent (from Ash Wednesday to Easter Saturday) we will stop and count the comforts in our lives and say thanks. Each day, we will drop coins into a collection for a different item. On Ash Wednesday, we find a coin for every lamp. The next day, a coin for every light switch. The day after that, a coin for every candle and so on.
On Easter Sunday, bring your offering to worship so we can celebrate and bless these gifts, which will be used to help a Northeast Ohio family achieve the dream of home ownership through the 2025 Habitat for Humanity Faith Build!
That’s right – the coins we collect through this calendar will be given to our Easter Offering, which will support our church’s commitment to the 2025 Habitat for Humanity Faith Build. Together with other area churches and a partner family, we are bringing together the money, labor, prayer and resources needed to build a house. Together, we are making the dream of home ownership a reality for a family.
