As students come to the end of their first semester, a little reminder that they are remembered and loved can mean a lot! Eve Circle, a Brecksville United Women in Faith Circle, is organizing a College Care Package Project for fall 2025 to share some love!
One of the organizers, Judy McCrodden, reports, “In November, Eve Circle will send a note and surprise gift to our church members who are currently attending college. This is a fun way to keep in touch with our students and to let them know we are thinking of them.”
To add your student to the mailing list, contact Judy, click the button below or call the church office. If you’re moved to help with a financial donation, it would go a long way. Last year, the group mailed gifts to 27 students!
A BUMC Blessing for College Students
May you know that even as you go off to a new school, a new city, or just a new routine, you are not forgotten. Your church family remembers you — your folks, your friends, the church ladies who always ask if you’ve had enough to eat – and we’re praying for you.
In a world so quick to tell you to just look out for yourself, we pray you live a life of determined service. May you find the people who are in need, not because you’re trying to earn a gold star, but because it’s a beautiful, essential way to live. The world needs you.
We pray that you stay honest in your worship, even when it feels like something you don’t have time for. May you continue to seek and speak the truth, even when it feels like a risk. May you find God in the quiet moments between class and your part-time job. May you know that even a tired prayer is a holy one.
May you have a hunger for lifelong learning and the good sense to listen to people who see the world differently than you do. May you be a person who is not afraid to say, “I don’t know,” and then truly seek to understand.
We pray that you practice courageous inclusion, a wide welcome to people who look and think and feel differently than you do. May you have a deep, quiet resolve to stand with those on the margins, even when it’s awkward, and even when it costs you something.
And finally, we pray that you find spaces to joyfully gather—that you find your people, a community, a weird bunch of friends who get you, laugh with you, and stick with you no matter what.
And may you find God in the midst of it all!
Amen.
