Our August Collection benefits Midwest Mission and people recovering from disasters
On July 1, Hurricane Beryl made landfall over the island of Carriacou with winds as high as 150 mph. The island was devastated, with over 90% of houses damaged. From there, Beryl slammed through the Caribbean, impacting Jamaica, Haiti, Mexico, and eventually Texas. The path of destruction covered a wide area.
But our UMCOR distribution hub, the Midwest Mission Distribution Center, was ready. Every relief kit on their shelves was distributed. Now it’s time to replenish those supplies. Our August collection drive will help UMCOR be ready to respond to the next natural disaster. If you’re moved to help, shop our wish list at Amazon and have supplies delivered to Midwest Missions – or add these items to your shopping list and bring them to the green bin in our donation station on the first floor by August 31. Thank you!
