A ministry of caring
A message from our Funeral Coordinator, Anthy Imes
Good Afternoon All,
On Saturday, February 22 we are hosting a Celebration of Life for our dear friend Patricia “Pat” Frank who died in November after a brief illness. Paul and family are putting together a beautiful service full of music, as is fitting for Pat, with a reception to follow in Fellowship Hall. You can help make this a day of comfort and love by volunteering.
Details of the day are being planned and will be shared here as they are finalized.
As usual, I’m looking for some volunteers to help out during all parts of this service. If you haven’t served before, some things that volunteers do are greet people in the lobby & hand out funeral programs before the service, and while the service is going on, they help set up the food and beverages for the reception luncheon.
During the reception, volunteers make sure the beverages are stocked (as well as things like napkins, silverware, etc.), direct guests to restrooms when asked, help wash dishes, and clean up Fellowship Hall afterwards. This isn’t an exhaustive list–we all just pitch in where needed!
As usual, I will be here to help and lead the volunteer team from start to finish.
If you can’t help in-person, we are also looking for people who would like to make or purchase bakery for the reception, or pick up tablecloths after the reception to wash at home and return to the church.
Please let me know if you’re available, whether for part of the time, all the time, or able to donate bakery or your washing services. I’m particularly looking for a solid dishwashing team as we’ll have a lot of washing to get through. Let’s surround Paul and his family with love and service!
Thank you so much for considering!
Sincerely,
Anthy Imes
