June Is Pride Month – an opportunity to raise awareness about LGBTQ+ issues and to advocate for equality and inclusion. Here are some opportunities for 2025

Pride in the CLE

1. Have you ever been in a parade? Here’s your chance! The LGBT Center of Cleveland sponsors Pride in the CLE on Saturday, June 7 in downtown Cleveland. Brecksville UMC has walked in the parade for several years and we have always had a wonderful, uplifting experience. We will be with other United Methodist churches from the Greater Cleveland area. BBH Pride Fest

2. Have you ever been to Pride Fest? It is a local festival held on the grounds of Broadview Heights Recreation Center. Brecksville UMC has had a presence for the last several years and we need a team of people to plan for the booth at Pride Fest on Saturday June 14. Shannon Kantorowski and I have some ideas and it would sure be great to have some help to pull everything together. 3. Do you have a truck, SUV or van? We also need people to transport the tent, tables and supplies from church to the Pride Fest venue and set up the booth. We need shifts of people to be at the booth to show God’s love to all and to let folks know that they are welcome at BUMC. There will be some activities for the attendees that will require no special knowledge or skill. At the end of the day we need people to tear down the booth and return everything to church.
