At Brecksville United Methodist Church we are unabashedly authentic in our lifelong quest to grow with God and learn with one another, with age appropriate opportunities for all ages.
Our early childhood education programs are designed to meet children where they are and to develop sticky faith that will give kids a foundation for lifelong growth with God. Caring teachers and helpers make learning fun, with plenty of opportunities to develop lasting friendships.
Sundays at 9:30 – Sunday Morning at the Movies
Each month we will choose a secular movie to watch together over the course of four weeks. We will take time to have conversations about the lesson the movie teaches and how that aligns with our faith. We will also focus on God’s creativity in nature as we learn more about the creatures in each movie.
Sundays at 10:30 – Sprouts and Seedlings
Following the Children’s Moment in the 10:30 worship service, kids can join their teachers to learn Bible stories while playing games, making crafts and enjoying other activities that help bring the stories to life.
Seedlings is for younger children ages three and up. This quieter and slower paced setting allows our kids to hear a Bible story over the course of two weeks, play games and make a simple craft. Any aged child (3 and up) can join their friends in Seedlings!
Sprouts is for children who are ready to learn at a faster pace with more challenging activities. Here we learn the same Bible story over the course of 4 or 5 weeks, through various disciplines such as Science, Cooking, Video, Storytelling, Music, Art and Games. Children need to be at least in 1st grade to move into Sprouts.
Why does Sprouts and Seedlings start after the Children’s Moment? So kids can experience worship with their families. The Children’s Moment takes place each Sunday after the welcome, opening prayer and opening song.
