Greater Cleveland Congregations (GCC) is a nonpartisan, multi-racial, multi-faith group of people working together to build power for social justice. GCC unites people from across Cuyahoga County to tackle issues and take actions that strengthen our communities. Brecksville UMC is part of this network for good.

Upcoming Events:

  • Not With Our Money – A collective action to stop Citizens Bank from financing immigration detention centers. Citizens Bank holds $8 billion in Cuyahoga County deposits but invests the least back into our community of any major local bank — while financing $2.5 billion in ICE detention operations. GCC is organizing a collective pledge to move our money together. Click Not With Our Money for more information.
  • Aug. 15 @ 10 am to 2 pm – Health Fair. GCC will introduce the primary care clinic we will be opening up in the Lee-Harvard neighborhood, and the different initiatives from the Healthy Blocks team including the Community Health Connectors and Aging in Place. The Health Fair will also feature a healthy cooking demo, line dancing, yoga, a community baby shower, music, tabling from different organizations, and more!  Click Events – Greater Cleveland Congregations to attend.
  • Sept. 17 @ 7 pm – Judge Candidate Action – focusing on pretrial justice. Over two out of three people in our jail aren’t serving a sentence – they’re in jail awaiting trial because they can’t afford bond.  Join us to learn about this November’s judicial candidates and the issues people face after arrest.  Let judges know we want fairness.  ClickGCC Judicial Candidate Action: Focusing on Pretrial Justice 9/17/26 to attend.
